Teacher
Dimitra Vassos
Dimitra began training in rhythmic gymnastics at the Science, Art and Sport Center when she was five years old. To enhance her skills, she enrolled in choreography and classical dance at seven years old, and began competition a couple of years later. Dimitra has competed at the local, regional, and state levels; in addition, she has represented the Science, Art and Sport Center in a national rhythmics competition at the U.S. Olympic Training Center, and placed first in another group dance competition. Dimitra's interests extend throughout the world of art, sport and music: she has taken classes in everything from cheer to sewing to iconography; sings in her church choir and volunteers as an assistant junior choir director and assistant Greek Folk Dance teacher. After graduating from the Center in 2020, Dimitra's passion has been to weld her love of rhythmic gymnastics and choreography with a love of teaching and inspiring others to be strong, artistic and beautiful in every way.
